The Reappearing Glory of Erren River – Photo Documentary for The Shifting Watershed

The watershed had been shifting from the settlement sites of the early Taiwanese people to the most polluted river. With the hard works of the Erren River Reborn Program, successful rehabilitation has showed signs of hope and becoming a model for other polluted rivers. The photo documentary on the unique changing process can remind people of the valuable river resources, of the losses caused by the pollution. This project has accomplished the following tasks: (1) survey of the shifing environmental humanities; (2) collection of photos related to the shifting environmental humanities in the watershed; (3) editing the photo documentary, named ‘The Reappearing Glory of Erren River – Photo Documentary for The Shifting Watershed’ as the introductory materials in the public outreach activity. It is expected through these efforts, the following benefits can be acchieved: (1) to enrich regional environmental humanities research; (2) to enrich the river humanistic features; (3) the photo documentary can serve as teaching materials for homeland education and environmental educations; (4) the photo documentary can be the reference for eco- and cultural tourism.
